Redefining Ireland’s Largest Motors Marketplace

Goal.

Refocus the perception of the DoneDeal Motors brand across its verticals to engross a sense of premium, trustworthy and expertise in the mind of its users. 

Answer.

Introducing a new visual brand identity across company-wide verticals to shift the perception which allows users to see the brand as a more modern and trustworthy source for their automotive needs.

As always, begin with a discussion.

Beginning with a brand identity workshop, the team and I discussed the direction we wished to take the vertical. We brainstormed using a brand audit of our previous collateral to decide on moving forward with a monochrome DoneDeal Motors identity.

Understanding the Brand Perception.

The first step to redefine this iconic brand was to understand how the users & dealers perceived the brand. Donedeal.ie was seen as a Online Marketplace for used, pre owned cars (or bangers as we call them in Ireland) by private sellers.

Out with the Red, in with the New.

DoneDeal’s iconic Red was a talking point during the creation of the new DoneDeal Motors identity, losing it completely would make the brand unrecognizable. Deciding to use it as our third accent color would complement the new monochrome color palette.

Attaining the desired Feeling.

To achieve the feeling of a premium car online marketplace, the focus was to attain well known car brand dealerships across Ireland onto the website. We standardized the use of premium car imagery using gray and black opaque overlays & removed the use of illustrations across the brand collateral.

The new DoneDeal visual identity.

I updated all the brand collateral, including Social Media & Mailchimp templates, DoneDeal Brand Guidelines, and imagery, to reflect the new Brand Identity using Google Slides for automated marketing.
